The authors discuss investigation and tПоказать полностьюhe related procedure for rating of copper-nickel ore loss and dilution in ore mining by slicing and room-and-pillar methods with self-propelled equipment and solidifying backfill. The analysis of the structural elements of the mining methods and technologies, morphology of interfaces of ore bodies, enclosing rocks and filling masses allowed elaborating and setting forward: classification of sources, places and types of operational loss and ore dilution; methodical approach to estimation and rating of ore loss and dilution; identification algorithm for types of activity and sequence of performance. Considering interconnection of ore loss and dilution, the article describes the method of what-if analysis and the statistical approach to optimization of ore loss/dilution ratio based on the criterion of maximum profit per 1 t of mined and processed ore. Based on the research results, more than 30 guiding documents have been prepared and put in force for rating of any type ore loss and dilution, and the employed mining methods and technologies in the mines of the Polar Division of PJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL".
