Аннотация: The detailed study of composition, morphology and properties of coal fly ash hollow aluminosilicate microspheres (cenospheres) resulted from combustion of Kuznetskii coal was carried out by methods of Mossbauer spectroscopy, optical and scanning electron microscopies, thermodynamic analysis of phase composition for multicomponent aПоказать полностьюluminosilicate systems. The process to isolate cenospheres of constant composition including magnetic separation, grain size and gravity classification was developed. About 30 microspherical products of different composition with an iron content in the range of 2-15 wt.% were obtained. Cenosphere-derived porous materials and sorbents for immobilization of liquid radioactive waste (LRW) were developed in this work. The peculiarities of cenosphere modification by treatment with mineral acids resulting in the different porosity of the cenosphere shell are discussed. The possibility to produce composite inorganic ion exchangers (ammonium molybdophosphate - AMP; copper, nickel and iron ferrocyanides - Cu-FOC, Ni-FOC and Fe-FOC; zirconium phosphate - ZrP) and solid extradants (triisobutylphosphine sulfide - TIBPS, trioctylphosphine oxide - TOPO) by their encapsulation inside perforated porous cenospheres has been demonstrated. Characteristics of the sorbents in sorption of 137Cs and stable palladium isotope were determined using model solutions and simulants of actual radioactive waste. Copyright © 2005 by ASME.
