Аннотация: The article proposes a method for evaluating the viscosity of motor oils based on the test results. In this paper, a method is considered for determining the viscosity-temperature characteristics of oxidized engine oils by heating them with constant stirring at thermostating temperatures of 180, 170 and 160 ℃ and measuring the kineПоказать полностьюmatic viscosity and optical density using a viscometer and a photometer, respectively. As a result of experiments with mineral, partially synthetic and synthetic motor oils, the influence of oxidation processes on their viscosity properties was established. The experimental data were obtained and analysed after the construction of graphical dependencies of optical density, viscosity (μ40) and (μ100), and viscosity index on the test time of engine oils that clearly demonstrate the change in the viscosity of the lubricant to changing environmental conditions. A comparative analysis of motor oils of different base bases, but of the same viscosity class was performed. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
