Аннотация: Stirring of melt in metallurgical furnaces by electromagnetic field is widespread method, which is used more than 70 years and is most preferred for preparing alloys. In the article considered a method which improve the efficiency of mixing in furnace bath with low levels of melt by mounted MHD stirrer at the side wall.To solve thiПоказать полностьюs problem was proposed to use the MHD stirrer with a transverse magnetic flux. In article described principle and design of the stirrer, the results of comparing the effectiveness of the MHD stirrers with transverse and longitudinal magnetic flux established at the side wall of the furnace, with equal weight-size and energy parameters. It was also compared the effectiveness of magnetic stirrers with transverse flow of different performances. Considered two-phase and three-phase stirrers. The investigations were carried out by numerical simulation.
