Аннотация: The effect of multicomponent etchants on Bi12GeO20 and Bi12SiO20 single-crystal surfaces was studied. Diffusion-controlled congruent dissolution was shown to be necessary to ensure a high surface finish. HCl-based etchants were found to produce the best polishing effect. The thickness of the deformed surface layer was determined.
