Аннотация: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>The paper considers the strategic importance of the food problem not only on a national scale but also at the level of separate territories of Russia. The territories have different natural and climatic conditions. An estimation of the food supply parameters for such regions as the Far EastПоказать полностьюern and Southern Federal Districts, characterized by a contrasting climate, has been carried out. The paper considers the dynamics of consumption and production of basic food products in these regions in comparison with the all-Russian indicators. The authors carry out the analysis of indicators for rational norms of basic food products consumption in relation to the rational norms recommended by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The paper presents the estimation of the food self-sufficiency level in the considered federal districts. The main directions of solving the food problem in the regions are determined.</jats:p>
