Аннотация: Introduction: The combination of COPD with MM aggravates the course of both diseases, the patient9s condition and requires personal correction. Aim: To evaluate the chemiluminescent activity of neutrophils in COPD with MM. Methods: The diagnosis of COPD and MM was verified by clinical and laboratory examination. 3 groups were identified: 1 (n = 47) - patients with COPD with MM; 2 (n = 54) - patients with MM; 3 (n = 125) are practically healthy volunteers. We used chemiluminescent analysis of production of active oxygen forms of NG. The statistical significance of the differences was determined using the Mann – Whitney rank test p <0.05. Results: In patients with COPD with stage II MM, the chemiluminescence intensity, the area of the curve, as well as the activation index for spontaneous and induced chemiluminescent activity of NG statistically significantly increased (p = 0.045). In COPD patients with stage III MM, the chemiluminescence intensity (p = 0.045), the area under the curve (p = 0.045), as well as the activation index (p = 0.045) with spontaneous and induced chemiluminescence, were statistically significantly increased, while the parameters of induced chemiluminescence of NG were significantly lower than spontaneous (p = 0.045). Conclusion: In patients with COPD with MM in the last stages, excursion of the diaphragm decreases with calm and forced breathing, respiratory function is impaired, while in 55% of patients with COPD with MM in the later stages, pulmonary hypertension is detected, a decrease in neutrophil activity in these patients exacerbates the clinical manifestations of bronchial obstruction.
