Аннотация: 1. A technique has been evolved for the preparation of a continuous metal fiber by extrusion from a melt. A formula is proposed for calculating the solidification of liquid metal in a moving jet. 2. Jet holding rates ensuring an acceptable delay of phase transformation in a melt are found in the range of velocities required for obtПоказать полностьюaining a continuous metal fiber. Increasing the emergent velocity of jet is accompanied by a sharp supercooling of the melt and rupture of the solidified strand by unstable vibrations in the upper part of the strand. 3.
