Аннотация: The article presents the results of a study of linear induction MHD machines of a longitudinal magnetic field with a three-phase power supply, designed to affect the molten aluminum. To increase the depth of penetration of the running magnetic field into the melt, the frequency of the current in the power supply system is reduced tПоказать полностьюo several hertz. In MHD devices for various purposes and sizes, the best frequencies differ. For example, for melt stirrers in furnaces with a capacity of 30 tons, the operating frequency is about 1 Hz. The calculation of the traction and energy characteristics of three-zone and four-zone linear induction machines when the source frequency changes, is made for scale models in a single standard size. Analysis of the power characteristics of the inductors showed the preference of using four-zone machines for electromagnetic melt mixing. When developing shortened inductors of a longitudinal magnetic field of greater productivity, the choice of the best acceptable frequency of the supply current is the subject of optimization.
