Аннотация: A brief review of studies on nematic and cholesteric liquid crystals under conical boundary conditions is presented. The most important results on the orientational structures and optical properties of nematic droplets and planar layers of nematic and cholesterics with tangential-conical boundary conditions are briefly described.
