Аннотация: The article reviews ecological-geochemical analysis of soil, vegetation, air, bottom sediments and dust emissions in Krasnoyarsk and the city neighborhood. The analysis data confirm generation of biochemical cadmium province as a consequence of emission, discharge and accumulation of heavy metals due to various production activitieПоказать полностьюs, including mineral mining and processing, within the 80-year period of industrial development of the region. The qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the technogenic, i.e. industrially generated, biochemical cadmium province are specified by assessing actual cadmium content in samples by means of atomic emission spectral analysis and, then, comparing the estimates with the abundance ratio and background concentrations in the region. The local conditions and other factors contributing to accumulation of cadmium and other metals are identified, namely, high CO2 emissions from coal combustion at Thermal Power Stations 1, 2 and 3; high air humidity and the increased ionic radius of cadmium. Stating the technogenic geochemical cadmium anomaly in the residential area and its influence on the regional biosphere, the authors deem it wise to continue the relevant research.
